Departmental Achievements

The following bullet points show the achievements of the Mathematics and Humanities department during last two years.
  • The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India has accepted the proposal submitted by the Department of Mathematics and Humanities, SVNIT, Surat under the scheme “Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure (FIST)” and an amount of Rs. 70 Lakh will be granted to strengthen the research facilities in the department.
  • A Ph.D. research scholar Mr. Haresh Jani under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Twinkle R. Singh has received the best research paper award for the paper entitled “Source of Newell-Whitehead-Segel Equation by Aboodh Transform Homotropy Perturbation Method”, on, 28/01/2022 in the 5th International Conference on the current scenario in Pure and Applied Mathematics organized by Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India [online mode].
  • Dr. H. P. Bulsara, mentoring the Surati iLab, Technology Business Incubation Centre established by Surat Municipal Corporation under Smart City project for creating Entrepreneurship culture in the Community. It is a part of activities related to the services to the community and society in line with the Institute Outreach Activities.
  • Dr. Neeru Adlakha has become a member of Editorial Board of CSI Journal of Computing.
  • Dr. Jayesh Dhodiya has been selected as BOS member in Veer Narmad south Gujarat University.
  • Dr. Jayesh Dhodiya has been selected as BOS member in Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli.
  • Ms. Nisha Pokharna received best paper presentation for the talk entitled “Duality results for Interval-valued variational problem with B-(p,r)-invexity” in the “Virtual International Conference on Soft Computing, Optimization Theory and Applications (SCOTA)” during 26-27 March 2021 organized by BIT Mesra, Ranchi.
  • Dr. R. K. Meher, received an Inspiration talk award and best presentation award in the field of oil recovery process in International Conference on Advances in Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science Dubai 2018 during 09-10 Feb, 2018.
  • Mr. Sourav Majumdar, qualified CAT Examination 2018-19 .
  • Dr. JayeshDhodiya received Best paper award for the paper for the paper “Fuzzy preference based Mathematical model for faculty course time slot assignment for remaining courses” in 23rdISTE State annual faculty Convention 2018 with National conference on Role of Innovation and Human values in Engineering and Technology” Jointly organized by ISTE and SSASIT, Surat on 15th December 2018.
  • Dr. Sushil Kumar, Visited Michigan Technological University, Houghton, USA, for research collaboration with Dr. Cecile M Piret, on “Solution of fractional differential equations using Radial basis functions”, during Sept 15-Oct 7, 2016.
  • Dr. V. H. Pradhan, Research Collaboration Invited Dr. D. N. Chalishajar, Lieutenant Colonel (Associate Professor), Department of Applied Mathematics, Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA – 24450, USA for research collaboration with Dr. V. H. Pradhan during 03/08/2016 to 12/08/2016 at the Department of Applied Mathematics & Humanities, SVNIT, Surat.
  • Dr. Ranjan Jana: Awarded Research Associateship (For University Teachers) By Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai for Three Years.
  • Dr. V.H. Pradhan , Best Paper Award, Title Of Paper : (Presented And Received Best Paper Award ) “Approximate Analytical Solution Of Non-Linear Equation In One Dimensional Imbibition Phenomenon In Homogeneous Porous Media By Homotopy Perturbation Method”, Venue: International Conference On Computational Heat And Mass Transfer, Department Of Mathematics, Nit, Warangal, 30 Nov. – 2 Dec, 2015.
  • Expert Talk as A Guest Speaker On “Study On An Approximate Solution Of Non-Linear Partial Differential Equations In Porous Media”, Dated 15/12/2015 Time 2.00 P.M.-3.00 P.M.   • Mr. Urmik Bhavsar (M.Sc. Student) Secured 3rd rank at state level Harmonium competition (Youth Festival 2021) on December 28, 2021 held at Vadodara, Gujarat.
  • Pansuriya T Bharatbhai (M.Sc. Student) and his team members have become the Zonal Toppers of Gujarat Region in MIMAMSA 2021 organized by Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, (IISER), Pune.
  • More than 18 students have been places at various reputed companies and organizations in the A.Y 2021-2022.
