COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • Introduce students to the need for information systems.
  • Introduce students to concepts of system analysis and design life cycles.
  • Introduce students to various tools for system analysis.
COURSE OUTCOMES
After successful completion of this course, student will be able to
  • Identify and analyse the system requirements using various system analysis techniques.
  • Create simulation models of various types.
  • Understand basic knowledge of simulation system principles.
  • Define various systems analysis and design concepts and terminologies.

    Types of Information (operational, tactical, etc. ), need for information systems, management structure, requirements of information at different levels of management, functional allocation of management, requirements of information for various functions, qualities of information, small case study

  • SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN LIFE CYCLE

    Requirements determination, requirements specifications, feasibility analysis, final specifications, hardware and software study, system design, system implementation, system evaluation, system modification, role of system analyst, attributes of a system analyst, tools used in system analysis

  • INFORMATION GATHERING

    Strategies, methods, case study, documenting study, system requirements specification, from narratives of requirements to classification of requirements (strategic, tactical, operational, and statutory), example case study
