1 Dr. Hemantkumar B. Mehta, Asst. Prof., MED has received a research project titled 'Investigations on a novel stacked microchannel heat sink using efficient coolants' from SERB, DST, India of Rs. 24,47,500/- for the duration of three years.
2 Dr. Jignasa Gohel, Asst. Prof., CHED has received R & D project titled 'Synthesis and characterization of semiconductor/oxide materials for cost effective perovskite solar cell modules' of Rs. 16,32,000/- under Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi.
3 Dr. Debesh Roy, APD has been selected for the National Award 'BHARAT VIKAS AWARD' by the Institute of Self Reliance, an organization of 'Bharat Vikas Parishad' with government partners as 'National Skill Development Agency' and 'Indian Red Cross Society' for his outstanding contribution to the society by honourable Union Minister & National Leaders, for their excellent devotion in respective fields like Science & Technology, Acting, Medicine, Social work etc. on 19th November, 2017 on the occasion of 'Citizens Day' at Bhubaneswar.
4 Dr. R. V. Rao, Prof. Mechanical Engg. Dept. has been awarded on May 10, 2017 with the Habilitation degree "DOKTORA HABILITOWANEGO" ("Habilitated Doctor" in English) in Technical Sciences from Poland Government&apos s Cracow University of Technology during Graduation Ceremony due to the academic and research achievements including developing two new optimization algorithms (and their subsequent adoption/adaptation by various researchers worldwide in the field of optimization), higher h-index, delivering series of lectures in Polish University, authoring 5 text books by Springer-Verlag, etc.
5 Dr. Yogesh Sonvane, Asst. Prof., APD has received project titled 'Novel perovskite-based solar cells: Investigation of potential properties using ab-initio approaches' from SERB, DST New Delhi of Rs. 30,09,000/- for the duration of three years.
6 The MoU is signed on 13th June 2017 at Pune, between Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune and Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat for installation of Super computer "PARAM Shavak" at SVNIT for capability building in the area of High Performance Computing and Deep Learning. Duration of the MoU is Three years from the signing date of the MoU.
7 Prof. J. Banerjee,MED become a Guest Editor (along with Prof. Amithabh Bhattacharya of IIT Bombay) for special issue of "Sadhana" by Springer - an Official Journal of the Indian Academy of Sciences, and explores all branches of engineering science, including mechanics, computer science, electronics, energy,aerospace technology, materials science, nuclear engineering, systems analysis, and alternative technologies.The details of this special issue are available on
