📚 Borrowing Limits & Loan Durations
- Corporate & Academic Members: Received 5 distinct library cards per registration. Institutional members can request up to 5 physical books concurrently for a term of 30 days. In the case of membership with a borrowing facility, nominations for up to 3 authorized personnel must be filed with profile pictures and signature patterns.
- Professional, Associate, Alumni, & Retired Members: Permitted to borrow up to a max of 2 books at a time with a loan period of 30 days.
- All specific annual variations will persist valid for exactly one year commencing on the date registration concludes.

- Corporate & Academic Privilege: Where permissible, the members will be allowed to access e-resources at designated visitors computers in the library.
⚠️ CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE RESTRICTIONS:
Access to subscribed electronic resources not available for External Members, and no reading room facility is provided.
To preserve ideal collection balances, all external guests must align tightly with these general terms:
- Institutional Priority: The faculty,staff and students of SVNIT Surat have the first priority for using library spaces and materials.
- Circulation Constraints: Only books from the General Collection are issued to the external members. Reference materials, journals, reports, standardization papers, dissertations, and computer discs are restricted from external checkout.
- Library Identity Protection: The primary subscriber holds full accountability for checking out items on their card. Loss or theft must immediately reported to the Librarian via written application. Reissuing duplicate card will be issued on payment of ₹100/-.
- Incoming Verification: Borrowers must inspect target books for loose bindings or structural issues before departure, raising anomalies with the circulation personnel.
- Damaged/Lost Book Restitution: If a book is broken or lost under a user's tracking log, they must source an identical fresh book copy or pay twice the prevailing market price of the material alongside administrative fees fixed by the Library.
- Overdue Reminders: Retaining books past the calendar deadline automatically activates an overdue processing rate of ₹2 per day.
- Recall Discretion: The library administration retains immediate authorization to recall checked-out titles if native campus staff or standard students demonstrate urgent requirements.
- Personal Cargo Control: Visitors are entirely forbidden from carrying personal packs, separate tracking notes, or unrelated textbook variants beyond the entrance security checkpoints.
- Operational Rejection Rights: The Central Library preserves full authority to discard, terminate, or deny external registration submissions without giving explanations.
- Digital Correspondence: Essential circular changes and notifications between the administrative team and external readers will happen exclusively over email.
